A return after a long silence

I haven't blogged in roughly two years.

Wow. I guess either I haven't had much to say... or haven't wanted to share what I'm thinking about. Either way, it doesn't matter. I'm back now whether you like it or not.

It's my plan to come back and post periodic devotionals, which I write pretty often anyway, but also to come here so I can put down some thoughts and clear my head.

I've been working on the same novel now for over a year-and-a-half. I keep restarting. Am I too picky? I get somewhat done and realize my plans for the story are too grandiose, so I go back to the drawing board and try to pare it down. This is now my fourth official paring down. What did I think I was writing, anyway - War and Peace?

At this rate, my fear is I'm not ever going to finish writing it. And I've been thinking so hard about it that I'm stifling my own creative juices and making an environment that's pretty harsh for trying to get any writing done. So here we come back to the blog. It's my hope that having a place just to "clear my head," so to speak, will help me get past the creativity rut I'm in right now.

So that's me... unabridged. I'll keep you posted on my progress... in the meantime... nice to meet you.
